Just a week after GRiZ officially ended a two-year hiatus, his "GEMiNI" EP arrives like a familiar friend who's evolved during their absence.

Two years felt like forever, but GRiZ's new EP proves the funkstep icon was just recharging his batteries for a comeback for the ages.

Timed perfectly with the buzz around his Seven Stars festival, GEMiNI is a compact yet potent showcase of his genre-blending prowess, a sonic love letter to fans who've been jonesing for that signature GRiZ fix. The project aptly reflects its astrological namesake, presenting dual musical personalities that showcase his range while reminding us why his return to the electronic music community is worth celebrating.

Kicking off with "Found Your Love," we're plunged into a bass-heavy vortex laced with soulful vocals and GRiZs signature, shimmering sax riffs. Next, "Take Me Home" ropes in Grabbitz, whose emo-tinged pleas ("All my broken parts scattered on their own") ride a tidal wave of anthemic drops.

"2-step Nassau" slinks into darker territory, delivering a nasty deep dubstep track with bass stabs that slither through the mix like vipers. GRiZ then closes out the EP with "Til the Color Fades," dialing up the dubstep noir with a woozy, shadowy banger.

In other GRiZ news, he recently revealed his own music festival, Seven Stars, and its inaugural lineup. The event, which he called his "first full-blown music festival," is scheduled for October 10-12 in Arrington, Virginia and will feature Subtronics, Levity, Of The Trees, Daily Bread, ALLEYCVT and many more.

GEMiNI is available only on Apple Music at the time of this writing. You can listen to the new EP here.
