Another Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon collab in the works?

Last week,  Zach Bryan released his highly anticipated single with Kings of Leon, “Bowery.”

Leading up to the single’s release, ZB teased a few clips of it on social media, and fans instantly recognized the signature KOL sound. Bryan called working with Kings of Leon “one of the greatest honors of his life,” as he’s always admired the work of the family band from Nashville, Tennessee.

The song details meeting a woman at the New York City venue, The Bowery, leading to a very memorable night filled with desire. Sonically, the sound blends the sounds of both artists well, highlighting the folk elements of Zach Bryan’s country-centered sound alongside the iconic KOL guitar licks.

“Bowery” will appear on Zach Bryan’s forthcoming record, With Heaven On Top. It was initially intended to be an EP that would precede Zach’s final studio album with Warner, but since he reupped his contract for another two records with them, the exact process is unclear. Either way, fans will have to wait a while for With Heaven On Top, which is to be released on January 9, 2026.

In the meantime, it appears that Zach Bryan is back in the studio with KOL, giving fans another project to look forward to.

Kings of Leon took to their social media to share a demo they are working on, and no other in the background vocal is that of Zach Lane Bryan. The tune seemingly titled “We’re Onto Something” is the perfect name for the sound of this partnership ringing through my speakers again.

The sound leans much more into Kings of Leon’s established groove, as frontman Caleb Followill sings a few verses that are chotic yet make sense that the narrator is weathering a storm of sorts knowing that if the makes it to the other side, he’s onto something new, something great, or just onto something of how to simply survive.

“I get to rambling, talking about the animals
Flippin’ around the channels
Living in my new flannel pajamas
Until the weather is warm
We’re still here, so something is clearly working
I’m certain the birds are chirpin’
I’m certain we will be hurtin’
If we make it through the eye of the storm
I think we’re onto something”

Followill’s voice is prominent throughout the song’s preview, but for brief moments, you can hear the distinct vocals of Zach Bryan in the background. These guys must be having a good time working together to be teasing another collaboration so soon after the release of “Bowery.” And frankly– just based on this teaser, I think that “We’re Onto Something” will rank higher than “Bowery.” I (and the rest of social media) are heavily digging the snippet of the tune.

Zach Bryan and KOL are definitely onto something here. Check it out.
