Jerry Jones just might be one of the most quotable figures in the history of the world… and not in a good way.

The Dallas Cowboy’s owner, president, and general manager has a knack for putting his foot in his mouth. And in the latest episode of, “What in the world did Jerry just say?,” the long-time NFL owner downplayed his team’s upcoming matchup against the Green Bay Packers… which is the team that Jerry traded his star defensive player Micah Parson to.

Throughout the entire saga, Jones has been adamant that he (and thus, the Cowboys) made the right choice to part ways with their 26-year-old, 4-time Pro Bowler. And in a couple of days, Dallas and Parsons will reunite… only Micah will be doing his darnedest to bring down his former teammate Dak Prescott.

The good news for the Cowboys? Jerry Jones isn’t worried about facing off against the defensive star that used to suit up for his team. That’s because the Cowboys general manager apparently knows every trick in the book to stop him, as he explained to 105.3 The Fan:

“Micah is special, and we all know he is. And he can be disruptive. But we have huge amounts of experience with the anecdotes that we’ve seen used on us for the last four years. While he does make great plays, there is also a way to approach playing against Micah — as we know, because we didn’t exactly win the Super Bowl those years.”

Now I’m not an expert in being an NFL owner, president, and general manager, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to boast about not winning the Super Bowl. Even if you are trying to prove a point – and ensure that you are right – mentioning that you’ve failed to win the “Big One” recently isn’t something your fans want to hear.

But as Jerry Jones sees things, their lack of a Lombardi is actually to the advantage of the Dallas Cowboys now that they face off against Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers:

“Bottom line is, when I look at playing him, I try to think of having him as an advantage when we were playing other teams. Some plays it looks beautiful, but then other plays, especially running plays, you wish you had a different formation.”

Boy, oh boy.

To all the Cowboys fans out there, I don’t know how you do it. It must feel like football purgatory to have Jerry Jones calling the shots, and it must only make things worse knowing that Jones has built his family into the Cowboys business… meaning that someone with the last name “Jones” could be running the Dallas Cowboys forever.

The silver lining? The Cowboys will always have the advantage when it comes to playing against teams with players that used to suit up for Dallas. Just remember that… the key to winning a Super Bowl is to trade away your best players, and then use your familiarity with that departed player to your favor.
