Well, if you’re a Scorpions fan, then you’re one step closer to getting that deep dive into the inner workings of the band that you’ve always wanted. Wind of Change is now in production, and you can check out the first trailer for it below.

For some reason, I legit thought they would just be themselves in the film, but that’s what happens when you smoke a lot of weed. So, it looks like the lead cast is comprised of Dominic West (The Crown), Alexander Dreymon (The Last Kingdom), Ludwig Trepte (Generation War), Ed Speleers (You), David Kross (The Reader), and Luke Brandon Field (Interview With The Vampire, Jojo Rabbit).

Wind of Change will follow the most successful iteration of the band, being guitarist Rudolf Schenker (played by Dreymon), Klaus Meine (played by Trepte),Matthias Jabs (played by Speleers) and drummer Herman Rarebell (played by Field). It goes deep into many things, like their inspirations, their hits, and how it felt to have “Wind of Change” become the Cold War anthem. West will play Doc McGhee, their infamous music manager and Kross will play Andrej, a friend of the band who was imprisoned on the other side of the Berlin Wall.

Ali Afshar, the founder and president of ESX Entertainment (who is producing the film) spoke of the opportunity and how Scorpions impacted their life positively.

“It’s been an unbelievable journey developing this film and bringing it to life feels surreal. Not only did the Scorpion’s music help me get through tremendous difficulties as an Iranian immigrant in America in the early ’80s, but their message of love, peace and rock ‘n’ roll seems more relevant today than ever. This cast is an amazing ensemble of truly great talent. I can’t thank FOX Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment enough for their support and especially the band — Rudolf, Klaus and Matthias — for believing in us and trusting us to tell their life story.”

It doesn’t seem like there’s a release date yet, but hopefully they’ll announce one soon.
