I guess things didn’t go so well after high school…

Back in 2012, Eric Church released the cinematic music video for his smash hit single “Springsteen.” The video, filmed just outside of Nashville in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, opened with a girl in the high school bleachers talking about what she was looking for in a boyfriend.

As the music starts, Church walks through a neighborhood draped in his signature American flag scarf while the video cuts back and forth to scenes between the girl from the opening and her boyfriend. While we never really find out what happened to the couple, it’s sort of implied that they don’t end up together as the boy watches back home videos of her on the camera. (At least that’s my interpretation of it – you never really know with Church).

The video, which also featured children who lived in the neighborhood in which it was filmed playing outside, was actually nominated for the CMA Award for Music Video of the Year back in 2012, but ultimately lost out to “Red Solo Cup” by Toby Keith, which really goes to show how much better music videos were just a little over a decade ago.

Anyway, we may finally know what happened to the girl in the “Springsteen” video…and it’s not looking good for her.

As it turns out, the actress in the video is Kelsey Pribilski Ray, who also made an appearance in the season finale of Taylor Sheridan’s hit Paramount+ show Landman.

In the controversial scene, Pribilski plays Jasmine, an adult dancer working at a strip club. Angela, played by Ali Larter, who is the wife of Billy Bob Thornton’s character Tommy Norris, decides to bring a group of senior citizens from a nursing home to the strip club while encouraging her daughter’s boyfriend Ryder to dance for them.

(You can probably see why the scene was controversial).

In her role, Jasmine encourages Ryder (who was the high school quarterback at the time, just for reference) to take a shot of vodka to loosen up before heading out on stage to dance for the old folks in nothing but his jock strap.

Pribilski has actually built up quite the resume in her time between appearing as a high school student in Eric Church’s music video and a stripper in Landman, appearing in many short films and television series, including hosting “BBQuest” on Hulu. She was also the producer for music videos like “Wild As Her” by Corey Kent and “Damn Strait” by Scotty McCreery.

It’s kinda wild to look back at some of these old music videos and see the familiar faces that you can spot. Amber Heard, the actress and ex-wife of Johnny Depp, starred in Kenny Chesney’s “There Goes My Life” video. Matthew McConaughey got his start in the music video for “Walkaway Joe” by Trisha Yearwood. And Megan Moroney was in the video for “Beer Never Broke My Heart” by Luke Combs – and had a full-circle moment when Luke brought her out for a performance of the song at a music festival in Boston.

The more you know…
