The Dallas Cowboys: America’s Team or America’s Laughing Stock?

For an NFL squad that hasn’t played in a Super Bowl game since the late 1990s, and that’s only won two playoff games in the past decade, they sure are talked about like football royalty. And with that attention – which is often only made that much worse by Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager/president/demise Jerry Jones – comes a lot of pressure, thus a lot of disappointment when the Boys don’t take care of business.

Let’s also be honest… it comes with a lot of joy and pleasure from sports fans who love to watch the Dallas Cowboys lose.

We’re still weeks away from the 2025-26 NFL season kicking off, yet somehow the Cowboys are already taking L’s. The latest loss comes in the form of a social media post from “America’s Team” relating their starting quarterback Dak Prescott to the Fantastic Four. Obviously, the NFL franchise is looking for a little synergy considering today is the opening night for Marvel’s new movie Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The movie, following Marvel’s “first family” that gains powers and groups together to use them for good, is expected to be a big hit for the superhero franchise (especially after previous incarnations have fallen flat). Dallas evidently thought it would be a good idea to cross football over with the family-oriented film. That’s why they put this image out, showing Prescott – who wears the number 4 – wielding every power of each member of the Fantastic Four all at once.

As you can see, Reed Richards’ stretchiness, Sue Storm’s force field and invisibility, Johnny Storm’s fire and flying, and the Thing’s rock arm power are all on display in the image that was posted by the Dallas Cowboys:

No harm, no foul, right?

Wrong. Little did the Dallas Cowboys know, they were setting jokes and jabs up on a tee for social media users. Clearly Dak’s right arm in the image is supposed to be stretchy, but it kind of comes off as implying he’s got a noodle-arm, does it not?

Football fans quickly dove into the reply section of the post to hurl Fantastic-Four-themed insults at Dak, and I’ve got to say… they were hilarious.

People especially made a point to utilize the “invisibility” power of Sue Storm in the jokes directed at Dak Prescott and the Cowboys:
