Country Music Fans Weigh In With Latest Country Artists & Bands They’ve Discovered
It’s always fun to discover a new artist or band. As a huge fan of music myself, that’s one of my personal favorite aspects of listening to music: the discovery. It’s always fun to discover a new artist or band.
As a huge fan of music myself, that’s one of my personal favorite aspects of listening to music: the discovery. The only thing arguably better than finding a really talented new act is sharing that new band or artist with your close friends or family. Nothing hits harder than when you say:
“Hey, check this song out. I think you’ll like it.”
And getting a message back that reads something like:
“Love it! I just added it to my playlist.”
Man, I got goosebumps just thinking about that. Even being on the receiving end of a freshly discovered musical act can be riveting. Which brings us to the question that we here at Whiskey Riff asked country music fans not too long ago. We took to social media to pose the question: Who’s the latest artist you’ve discovered?
Now we painted with a broad stroke with that question, but the country music fans that replied didn’t disappoint. I’d suggest getting out your notepad (or notes page, let’s be real) and jotting some of these artists down so you can check them out. Some of them would realistically be described as new, while others might instead fall underneath the new-to-you category. Then you’ve got oldies that you might have missed out on the first time around.
All in all, it’s a list that’s chock full of talent:
“Clay Street Unit.”
“Stephen Wilson Jr. is an amazing talent and must listen.”
“The Creekers.”
“Treaty Oak Revival.”
“The Droptines… can’t stop listening either.”
“Ole 60.”
“J.R. Carroll. He has some great music.”
“Watch out for Tyler Dodson.”
“The Jack Wharff Band.”
“Shane Profitt.”
“Ed Bruce, the hoss who wrote ‘Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys.'”
“Benjamin Tod.”
“Larry Fleet.”
“Whitey Morgan and the 78s.”
“Ian Munsick.”
“Charley Crockett.”
“Eric Bolander – the whole album ‘The Wind’ is a must listen.”
“Ben Chapman.”
“Presley Haile.”
“Zach Top… way late to the party apparently.”
Yes, you are. But that’s okay! It’s never too late to discover some new music by new (to you) artists. And hey, you could put together one heck of a playlist by going through the above list and throwing in one or two song from each name that popped up. Actually, I think I might take the rest of the day and do just that.
And hey… remember that thing I mentioned earlier about offering up and/or being on the receiving end of new music? This whole story fulfilled both of those scenarios. Some social media users threw out some of their newly acquired favorites, and you (the reader) have the pleasure of taking all of the suggestions into account and potentially finding a new band or artist yourself.
One of the actual perks of the online culture, eh? Finding and sharing new music? Guess that makes up for all of the toxicity that exists elsewhere online… or at the very least makes all of that easier to deal with. The post Country Music Fans Weigh In With Latest Country Artists & Bands They’ve Discovered first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
