New Charley Crockett is taking you into the 4th of July long weekend.

Charley Crockett does not miss and continues to raise the bar for himself and others in the business. Earlier this week, Crockett announced his 17th career record (including his live album from Nashville’s Auditorium) titled Dollar A Day, due everywhere August 8th.

“I don’t gamble. I just risk it all.”

Dollar A Day is the second album in the Sagebrush Trilogy following his latest record, Lonesome DrifterFor this record, Crockett teamed up with the legendary producer Shooter Jennings again, noting that his partnership has allowed him to feel authentically himself each time he steps into the studio.

“With Shooter, I’ve never felt more like myself in the studio. I don’t feel judged. At all. It’s truly a partnership. Hell, I’d say he’s my best friend, and you can’t aspire to greatness without that kind of trust. With ‘Lonesome Drifter,’  it felt like we opened the portal. With ‘Dollar A Day,’ we stepped through and came out the other side.”

While Crockett has always authentically expressed himself through his music, revealing the places he’s seen and his thoughts on the music industry and more, we saw Crockett dig deeper on Lonesome Drifter while working with Jennings. Crockett and Jennings proved that they are a musical match made in heaven on that record, and now they are doing it again, showing another side of Crockett’s art with the lead single from Dollar A Day, “Crucified Son.”

“Don’t ask me how I started
Because right now I can’t recall
It’s a wonder me and these boys
Are still out here riding at all
There’s got to be a higher reason
Cause it ain’t pleasure and fame
I walk out the door
They call me friends
And drive nails into my name.”

Crockett’s ability to produce top-quality content at the pace he does is a massive factor in his rise to fame. He’s one of the busiest men in the business, releasing top-tier project after project.

“Crucified Son” is a strong preview of what’s in store for Dollar A Day. August 8th can’t get here soon enough.
