Bunnie Xo Says Jelly Roll Is Falling In Love With Himself Again After Incredible Weight Loss

Falling in love with the man he’s become.

At this point, the world is familiar with Jelly Roll‘s dramatic weight loss transformation. At his highest, the country singer (whose real name is Jason DeFord) weighed around 550 pounds, but he knew he had to make a change. Jelly Roll recently admitted that it got to the point that he was “disgusted” with himself and struggling to do daily tasks:

“A little bit over a year ago, I was, I literally struggled to walk down my hill to the mailbox. I mean, it was really bad. And I had let myself get to a point of just being absolutely disgusted with myself.”

He even had trouble wiping after using the bathroom:

“I would have to put my arm on the wall and turn a little bit, making sure the wall would keep it that way… you have no clue what a 550 lb man has to do to wipe.”

Flash forward to 2026, and Jelly Roll has now lost over 275 pounds, looking nearly unrecognizable in his recent Instagram post on September 15th after performing for and meeting the Pope in Vatican City.

Jelly Roll’s appearance also underwent another significant change when he shaved his face for the first time in over a decade. Jelly says that the last time his face was clean-shaven was when he was fresh out of jail, and that he grew a beard to cover up his double chin:

“A lot of things change when you start losing weight, and you realize things. One of the things I’ve realized is, I don’t know what I look like.”

While the whole family is getting used to Jelly Roll’s new look, his wife has seen another transformation take place in front of her eyes. Bunnie Xo is seeing her husband fall in love with himself again.

During a recent conversation with Extra TV, Bunnie shared that when Jelly Roll chose to shave his face, she saw him fall in love with the man he saw in the mirror for the first time in a long time.

“My husband just shaved his face for the first time in 20 years. In 20 years, he hasn’t been able to see his face, and I think the coolest part of my husband shaving his face was getting to see him look in the mirror at himself and watching my husband fall in love with himself. Because you know, battling weight and being called names every day, you know, just living with that burden of the weight on him every day, that takes a toll on somebody’s self-esteem.

Comments like, ‘You look so hot!’ or ‘You look so healthy,’ or ‘I’m so proud of you,’ that just lifts his spirit so much. So being able to see him and look in that mirror and be like, ‘Yeah, I’m hot.’ Like it was cool, it was really cool to see. I’m proud of him.”

Jelly Roll should be falling in love with the man he’s transformed into. To have a weight loss that significant takes extreme dedication, drive, and perseverance. Not to mention that, hearing this through Bunnie’s lenses, you know that she’s so proud of all the work he’s put into himself.

The DeFords are a highly supportive family, and it’s amazing to see everyone cheering Jelly Roll on. Keep falling in love with yourself, Jelly. You deserve it.
