Boris to Release 20th Anniversary Reissues of ‘Pink’ and ‘dronevil’

Eclectic Japanese metal band Boris already announced a tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Pink, but that’s apparently not enough. Nope. The experimental rock masters also intend to release special 20 year anniversary versions of their albums Pink and dronevil on October 17 via Relapse Records.

Set to release for the first time in 20 years, Pink will get an anniversary edition that will feature the original CD sequence in a double LP for the first time ever. On the D side, there will be some side etching in the vinyl to give it a sick look, too.

Pink will also get a deluxe reissue boxset that comes with a whopping SIX LPs, including three LPs of unreleased tunes. The rest is the original CD sequence, an expanded “Forbidden Tracks” from the Pink recording sessions, as well as some live material never released on vinyl.

Similarly, dronevil will be available for the first time since its original release. This new edition will come with a double LP mix that’s available for the first time on vinyl. Since it’s actually one album of ambient space soundscapes and a second album of hard as fuck rock that’s supposed to be played at the same time, this new version is called dronevil – example –.

Preorders for both versions are available directly from either Relapse or through Boris’ Bandcamp.

Boris will also be heading out on tour in celebration of Pink. As previously reported, this run will take over venues across North America this October. Tickets for that run are available now, so be sure to check the full list of dates below.
