Angel Reese Reveals That She & Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams Have The Same Nail Tech

Well that’s a crossover in Chicago sports I didn’t see coming.
Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears opened their 2025 NFL season last night with one of the bigger meltdowns we’ve seen in recent memory (and it probably would have been the biggest meltdown of week 1 if the Baltimore Ravens hadn’t completely collapsed against the Buffalo Bills).
It was a slow start for JJ McCarthy, the rookie QB for the Minnesota Vikings out of Michigan. The Bears were up 17-6 with 13 minutes left in the game, and the Vikings didn’t even convert their first third down of the game until the fourth quarter when McCarthy threw a touchdown pass to Justin Jefferson to cut their deficit to just 5 points.
From there, the Minnesota defense stepped up and shut down Williams and the Bears, and McCarthy seemed to finally find his rhythm, hitting Aaron Jones for a touchdown to take their first lead of the night and then adding on a 14-yard rushing TD with just under 3 minutes left in the game to stretch their lead to 10.
It was too much for Williams and the Bears to overcome, as the Minnesota Vikings managed to stun the crowd at Soldier Field and send Williams to a record of 5-13 as a starter.
Obviously it hasn’t been the start that the second year quarterback, and the #1 draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had hoped for. And Chicago sports fans…well, they can be pretty brutal on their own players when they’re not winning, so when you have a QB who paints his fingernails while only managing a 5-13 record, he’s sure to hear some chirps on social media.
Williams has always been unashamed about his choice to wear nail polish on gameday, something that he says he started doing while his mom was working as a nail tech:
“My mom, she’s done nails for I don’t know how many years now. But ever since I was young, she’s been doing nails, and so one day just kind of at the nail salon I was like…forget it. I’m just going to try it. That was in high school, and now I’ve been doing it all through college, so now it’s been, I don’t know, 6-7 years now that I’ve been doing it.
There’s been times where I’ve thrown certain motivation on it. There’s been times where I’ve thrown awareness on my nails for different causes and things like that…It’s unique to myself. It’s me. […]
Everybody has their own opinions. I came to a certain point where I kind of treat it like my football career. I don’t really care what people have to say about it, especially from people that I wouldn’t ask for advice from. It’s me. It’s how I am. It’s unique to me.”
Well during last night’s game, Williams once again took the field with his painted fingernails, this time featuring the suicide prevention logo and colors:
And as it turns out, he turned to a fellow Chicago athlete to help him find someone to do his nails for the game.
Angel Reese, WNBA star for the Chicago Sky, took to Twitter to reveal that it was her nail tech who helped Williams accomplish the look:
“Love this. My nail tech really wanted to do his nails & she KILLED it! So proud!”
It sounds like this was the first time Williams has gone to this particular nail tech, but if he’s a superstitious guy, it might be the last. And hey, if he manages to somehow turn things around and lead the Bears to the Super Bowl, I can guarantee you nobody will care about his fingernails or anything else. The post Angel Reese Reveals That She & Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams Have The Same Nail Tech first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
