Amelie Lens Opens Up About Heartbreaking Miscarriages: “The Moment I Found Out I Was Pregnant, I Felt Like a Mom”

Amelie Lens has shared a deeply personal message on social media, opening up about the experience of two miscarriages and raising awareness of pregnancy loss.

The first took place before her daughter Kiki was born and the other, she said, happened just last week. The Belgian techno superstar recalled miscarrying on a flight to India and heading to a pair of hospitals in Delhi before performing a scheduled set that night while medicated for the pain. She didn’t tell anyone about her situation at the time. 

“The moment I found out I was pregnant, I felt like a mom,” Lens wrote. “You start dreaming about this little human, make space in your heart, your future changes. And suddenly you are mourning a baby no one else even knew was coming.”

Her latest pregnancy ended just days ago, she revealed. A slow heartbeat on an earlier scan gave her hope, but a follow-up showed none at all.

“I should be 2 months today,” Lens lamented. “And just like before, no one even knew I was pregnant, which makes it feel like I cannot tell anyone what I am going through. Again.”

She explained she wasn’t sharing the post for sympathy, but so others would feel less alone. She also pointed out how rarely people talk about early pregnancy loss despite how often it happens.

“Miscarriage is invisible grief,” she wrote. “And when people ask ‘why?’ it makes us feel like it is something we did. But most of the time there is no why… Miscarriage happens more than we think. The silence makes it even harder and I do not want any woman or couple to feel as alone as we did.”
