AEW Wrestler Adam Copeland Names “Frantic” as One of His Favorite Metallica Songs

There’s no denying that wrestling and metal go together like two peas in a pod. And as any All Elite Wrestling fans will know that Adam Copeland, previously known in the WWE as Edge, is a die-hard metalhead.

In a new interview with Metal Hammer, the AEW pro wrestling star was asked to list his favorite Metallica songs from (almost) the band’s entire discography. Throughout the conversation, Copeland gives mentions to “One” and “Fade to Black” as some notable favorites. Pretty safe selections there for sure, though we know the drill, there’s bound to be some angry dude who strongly disagrees with his list.

Speaking about Metallica, Copeland notes explained why he loves Metallica so much.

“There’s something about that music. I’d listen to it on the road, and it became my muse. Metallica is a constant in my life.”

Though he explains how “The Four Horsemen” is a track that “just punches you right in the gut” and how he likes to “direct these vignettes in my head” when “Battery” from Master of Puppets comes on, it’s his pick from the St. Anger era that stands out.

“Along with Load/Reload, these albums might be near the bottom of the list, but I quite enjoy St. Anger. I understand about the drum sound and all of those things but I really like “Frantic.” Killer song.”

Honestly, that sentiment might not be too surprising, considering the guy comes out to Alter Bridge’s “Metalingus” whenever he’s not constantly injured…

As for Metallica, you’ve probably already guessed where I’m going with this one. But, yes, they’re indeed continuing their M72 World Tour, the longest tour in metal! You can find the full list of dates below. Including their recently announced 2026 shows.
