So they’re not getting their wedding and honeymoon paid for after all?

Last week was big for Swifties when they got their first glimpse of the details surrounding the wedding between pop superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The couple started dating back in 2023, and got engaged back on August 26 during a lavish proposal in the garden of his Kansas City home.

Since then, we haven’t really heard much about the wedding as I’m sure Taylor has been busy planning every detail of her big day and Travis just goes along with whatever she wants (especially since he revealed that they’ve never argued during their relationship…if they can make it through planning a wedding without arguing, they’ll be together forever).

But last, Page Six reported that the couple will be tying the knot on June 13, 2026 at Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

The date apparently has a lot of significance for Swift, who’s into numerology and all that crap. As Swifties know, the pop star’s favorite number is 13, and according to Page Six:

“When written numerically, it comes out to 6/13/26. Six plus one plus three plus two plus six equals 18, and one plus eight equals nine.

According to Numerology.com, the energy of the number nine represents completion in a cyclical sense; it’s about the ending of one cycle, which creates the potential for another cycle to begin.

Nine acts as an usher in this process of transition or transformation, guiding and empowering us with its wisdom as it absorbs answers from a spiritual source and delivers them to us in the real world.”

Wonder what would have happened if her preferred date had been during football season…

But anyway, it was also reported that Swift hit a snag when trying to get her dream wedding venue and date: It was already booked for another wedding, so she reportedly paid the bride who had the venue booked on her preferred date to move her wedding.

The rumor was bolstered by a story that had been shared on the After Work Drinks podcast back in October, where a listener claimed that a friend of a friend (so clearly a reliable source here) had been bought out of her wedding date at a venue in Rhode Island – and that wedding date happened to be June 13, 2026, which turned out to be the date reported for Taylor’s wedding.

According to the podcast, they didn’t know the venue or who the mystery bride was that bought them out, but even then there was speculation that it was Swift:

“They think it might be Taylor Swift. June 13 is the only 13th that falls on a Saturday, and it’s near Taylor’s house in Rhode Island.”

The caller claimed that the offer was to pay for the entire wedding AND the honeymoon. Honestly, not a bad deal.

But the wedding venue denies that it happened.

In a statement released to several media outlets after the story began going viral, Ocean House says that they would never let a bride buy another wedding party out of their venue:

“When clients and their families choose Ocean House as their wedding venue, it is an agreement and commitment between our team and that family. Ocean House would not and is not allowing another party or entity to buy a wedding group out of a contracted wedding date.”

Of course Swifties were quick to call BS on the story and criticize it as “ridiculous,” but honestly even if it did happen I don’t really see the problem. A couple gets their entire wedding and honeymoon paid for, Taylor gets her date, and another couple has to either find another venue or push their wedding date back a week? Maybe it’s because I’m a guy, but I would take that deal in a heartbeat and be thrilled to do it. Doesn’t make Taylor the bad guy here if it really did happen, it just makes her the rich guy who can do what she wants, and another couple benefits from it.

We’ll probably never know whether it really happened, because even if it did you know the venue would deny it and Swift would no doubt include an NDA in her contract with the new bride.

But if it did happen? Well that other couple just got one heck of a wedding gift. The post Wedding Venue Denies That Taylor Swift Paid Off Another Bride To Move Her Wedding Date first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
