Not messing around.

For some reason it seems like concerts over in England always seem to turn into political rallies. There was, of course, the infamous Dixie Chicks incident way back in 2003 when lead singer Natalie Maines told the foreign crowd that she was ashamed that then-President George W. Bush was from Texas amid the United States invasion of Iraq. And more recently, Bruce Springsteen went on a long tirade against President Donald Trump during a show in Manchester, England that drew a strong response from the president himself.

But over the weekend, video went viral of a British rap duo making another strong political statement, not against the United States this time but against Israel.

Bob Vylan, a duo made up of singer Bobby Vylan (whose real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster) and drummer Bobbie Vylan, performed at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK over the weekend, and during the set the lead singer led the crowd in chantss that were quickly denounced as antisemitic:

The band was quickly dropped by United Talent Agency, and the BBC apologized for airing the group’s set during the festival.

And now they’re facing even more trouble as the United States has revoked their visas.

The move was announced by Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, who revealed that the State Department and Secretary of State Marco Rubio would be taking the measure to prohibit the group from entering the United States:

“The State Department has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants. Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.”

The group had previously been scheduled to embark on an extensive US tour this fall, which included stops in San Francisco, Portland, Chicago, Denver, Boston, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas and Nashville, among other major cities. But now it seems that the tour won’t be happening, since…well, they’re not allowed in the United States.

The band hasn’t responded to the news that their visas were revoked, but they’ve continued to stand by their statements at the festival, sharing videos of Gaza to their Instagram and sharing several posts reiterating their position on the Israel/Palestine conflict.

Of course, unlike the Dixie Chicks or Bruce Springsteen, the members of Bob Vylan aren’t US citizens, so they have no right to enter the country if the State Department chooses to revoke their visas.

Guess that tour isn’t going to be happening this fall. The post Trump Administration Revokes Visas Of British Singers After “Hateful Tirade” During England Concert first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
