The Shania Twain Foundation Makes $25,000 Donation To Pennsylvania Food Bank, Plans To Donate More All Across The Country

Shania Twain is hitting the road this summer on tour… and she’s giving back to every community she plays in.

As the country music legend gets ready to go out on her Shania Twain: Live In Concert Tour this summer, she’s also prepping donations to be given to local food banks located in the cities she stops in. Twain, who is the founder of the Shania Twain Foundation, is attempting to do her part to end food insecurity.

Her passion for helping others and providing food for vulnerable communities is what drove her to organize the donations, as she explained:

“At the Shania Twain Foundation, we believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food. These donations will provide direct support in the communities of each tour stop. We can make a meaningful impact across the United States and Canada by helping to ensure that food banks are well stocked and, in turn, uplift people in every city we visit this summer.”

One food bank that has already been informed of how much they’ll receive as a donation is the Hershey Food Bank and Community Outreach in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Doug Gray, the assistant treasurer of the Hershey Food Bank, revealed in a news release that the Shania Twain Foundation is set to donate $25,000 to their non-profit organization. That amount of money is life changing for the area, as Gray described:

“The Hershey Food Bank and Community Outreach, Inc. was thrilled to be contacted by the Shania Twain Foundation. This unexpected donation represents about 11% of our total food purchases for the year and will allow us to purchase the food that we will distribute to 347 families in one month.”

Simply amazing.

The Hershey Food Bank isn’t the only organization that will be benefiting from Shania Twain Foundation donations this summer. Below is a list of the other organizations that the Shania Twain Foundation has identified as donation recipients:

-Montana Food Bank Network (Missoula, MT)

-FeedMore WNY (Buffalo, NY)

-Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York (Saratoga Springs, NY)

-Good Shepard Food Bank of Maine (Bangor, ME)

-New Hampshire Food Bank (Gilford, NH)

-Feeding Northeast Florida (Jacksonville, FL)

-Feeding South Florida (Hollywood, FL)

Twain is also partnering with Second Harvest in Canada for the shows that she performs up north. In the video below, she talks about the work that her foundation and the Canadian based non-profit are doing to help fight food insecurity – an issue that hits close to home for the “You’ve Got A Way” singer:
