Mayor of Kingstown will soon be back for its fourth season.

At this point, it’s beyond safe to say that Taylor Sheridan doesn’t miss. He’s got one hell of a track record with Yellowstone and all of its spinoffs, and if you happen to like Taylor Sheridan shows outside of the Yellowstone universe, more of those are also coming within the next year.

It’s no secret that Taylor Sheridan has a large fanbase that follows him to whatever show he’s behind. Personally, I think one factor that fans especially love is that Sheridan keeps his shows on a regular schedule, releasing new seasons every single year (with the exception of Yellowstone). That’s huge in an age where other programs have two or even three year gaps between seasons.

It’s almost unfathomable to think about how many plates Sheridan currently has spinning, and how he continues to churn out hit after hit. Tulsa King is supposed to return September, and the smash-hit Landman is returning for its second season in November. And don’t forget about the wildly underrated Mayor of Kingstown, which just set an October 26 Paramount+ release date.

If you’re not familiar, the show stars Jeremy Renner as Mike McLusky, and follows the McLusky family in Kingstown, Michigan – a city where prison is the only real industry. Acting as the mediators between the street gangs, prisoners, guards, cops and politicians, the McLusky family battles to keep the peace in Kingstown, and has done so for decades.

Believe it or not, a press release stated that Mayor of Kingstown was the top series on Paramount+ during its third season, so there’s a good chance it could once again take that crown when season 4 hits the streaming service. The official synopsis for Season 4 reads:

“Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town, meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”

Renner will reprise his role of Mike McLusky in show’s fourth season, as will Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Taylor Handley, Hamish Allan-Headley and Nishi Munshi. And if that doesn’t get you fired up, the announcement of some additional cast members might do the trick. Edie Falco (The Sopranos), Lennie James (Fear The Walking Dead) and Laura Benanti (Younger) will all be added to the show as series regulars for the season 4.

Paramount+ dropped the first teaser trailer for Mayor of Kingstown’s fourth installment earlier today, and it already looks like it’ll live up to the standard of the first three seasons. There’s simply no way that the power-struggle between Edie Falco and Jeremy Renner’s characters doesn’t deliver, and at the end of the day, it’s just good to see Mike McCluskey back in action.

If you ask me, October 26 can’t get here soon enough:
