Taylor Sheridan Enlists Samuel L. Jackson For ‘Tulsa King’ Spinoff, ‘NOLA King’

A new show has been added to Taylor Sheridan’s roster.

The busiest man in Hollywood is taking on a new project, creating a spinoff of the successful TV series Tulsa King.

The show premiered in 2022, starring Sylvester Stallone, who plays a mafia man named Dwight “The General” Manfredi. Manfredi had just been released from prison in New York after serving over 20 years. He served his time, didn’t squeal, and expects to be rewarded when he returns to the fold. However, that is far from what he got.

The former capo gets sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he tries to set up shop, get back on his feet, and resume his mafia ways.

In the second season of Tulsa King, Sheridan Yellowstone actor enlisted Neal McDonough as the villain for the plotline, and fans could not get enough of it. If you’re a Yellowstone fan… don’t sleep on Tulsa King.

The third season of Tulsa King is currently filming in Oklahoma and Atlanta. Stallone and new cast members Robert Patrick, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, and Kevin Pollack are expected to appear on our TV screens in September.

And according to Variety, season three is setting up fans for a crossover event. 

Taylor Sheridan is getting ready to create a spinoff of Tulsa King that will take the mob mentality to the Big Easy for NOLA King, enlisting Samuel L. Jackson as the main character. But we will see Jackson appear in Tulsa King in the upcoming season, preparing fans for his plotline to move into its own lane.

Variety also reported that Dave Erickson, who currently works with Sheridan on Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown, has been appointed as the writer and showrunner of NOLA King. He will also be an executive producer.

As a big fan of Tulsa King, I feel like this will be another hit series for Sheridan. And with the enlistment of Samuel L. Jackson, what’s not to love about the early conversation of this?

Taylor Sheridan historically highlights incredible music in his series and even enlisted Jelly Roll to appear on Tulsa King. He also brought in Lainey Wilson as a character in the final two seasons of Yellowstone, so one would assume he will keep this trend for NOLA King.
