Stoned Jesus Expand Their Horizons with New Album ‘Songs to Sun’

Heavy psych stoner metal artists Stone Jesus know their way through a solid tune and luckily, we’ll be getting some more of that in the release of their next full-length effort Songs to Sun.

Set to release on September 19 via Seasons of Mist, the band says Songs to Sun will be the first entry in a trilogy that “will span the different phases of Stoned Jesus.” The second album Songs to Moon will be a darker entry and will come out sometime next year, followed by an even proggier album in Songs to Earth.

Stoned Jesus frontman Igor Sydorenko explains how the new album fits in the overarching story.

“We are thrilled to announce the beginning of this expansive journey. Songs to Sun picks up where Stoned Jesus left off on our previous album Father Light. Along the way, people will hear nods to Seven Thunders Roar and The Harvest. But there are also lots of new twists and turns that merge metal’s groove and intensity with vintage prog and our catchiest choruses yet. Lyrically, there’s a constant sense of insecurity and instability, but experimenting with the music is what helps give our lives a solid foundation.”
