Slipknot’s “Duality” Joins the Billion Streams Club on Spotify

This is enough to forget about the A.I. death bots, right? The post Slipknot’s “Duality” Joins the Billion Streams Club on Spotify appeared first on MetalSucks.

Listen, we have a pretty complicated relationship with Spotify these days. Yes, they’re the biggest online music streaming platform on the planet, but their CEO is using our subscription money to fund the A.I. robots that’ll come kill us all one day, forcing artists to ditch the platform or be complicit.

It’s gross and all, but we can still at least recognize when an artist or song does particularly well on the platform — and such is the case with Slipknot‘s “Duality” making the “Billions Club”.

The Billions Club is really nothing more than a Spotify playlist that first started in 2020 that highlights — you guessed it — tracks that hit one billion streams or more. Once you make the playlist, you get some sort of Billions Club plaque, too.

It’s the first time Slipknot’s managed to crack the billion stream threshold with any of their songs, joining roughly a thousand other tracks to make the mark. “Duality” joins the likes of Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City,” and three Metallica singles: “Nothing Else Matters”, “Enter Sandman” and “Master Of Puppets.” Of the more recent songs, Papa Roach’s “Last Resort,” Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life” and System of a Down’s “Toxicity” have also made the list.

With Slipknot now in the “club”, as it were, the next closest track to breach the billion streams threshold is “Psychosocial,” which has roughly 765 million streams. “Before I Forget” follows with 667 million streams.
