Shedeur Sanders Confirms That He Was NOT Wearing A Thong During Cleveland Browns Game Against The Tennessee Titans

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is one of the most high-profile rookies we’ve seen in the NFL in a long time. The former Colorado Buffaloes QB, and son of the legendary Deion Sanders, started the season as the third-string quarterback for the Browns, but thanks to some questionable roster moves (like trading Joe Flacco to their rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals) and an injury to Shedeur’s fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, Sanders has gotten the last three starts for the Browns.

Sanders is 1-2 as a starter so far, but appears to be quite a bit better than Gabriel, to the point that Browns coach Kevin Stefanski announced this week that Sanders would be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

But after the Browns game this past weekend, a 31-29 loss to the worst team in the league, the Tennessee Titans, a picture began circulating that had Browns fans questioning just what kind of quarterback they had under center…

In the image that’s since gone viral, Sanders was bent over in the endzone and…well, it looked like he was wearing a thong.

Naturally the picture took off on social media, with plenty of jokes about Sanders coming along with it. (And painted-nail Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams catching some strays along the way). And apparently even Shedeur’s brother, free agent safety Shilo Sanders, caught wind of his brother’s fashion choices and decided to ask him about it.

In the video, Shilo straight up asks Shedeur if he was wearing a thong, but Shedeur quickly laughs it off and clarifies what folks were seeing:

“You forgot I have a back injury, right? So I get my back taped.”

Of course, even Shedeur had to acknowledge what it looked like:

“That is crazy that it did look like that. That’s funny though… That was called back tape, bro.”

Shilo had some fun with his brother, poking fun at a bag that he carried in Paris and saying that maybe a thong was just the next step in his fashion journey. And he also asked his brother what it was like having a good game and then having his performance be overshadowed by accusations that he’s wearing a thong:

“It’s like, c’mon bruh. That’s obvious back tape.”

It seems like Shedeur was a good sport about it, getting a laugh out of the whole thing himself. But he wants to make clear: He wasn’t wearing a thong. It was just back tape.

President Donald Trump Praises Shedeur Sanders

President Donald Trump, who has been a vocal supporter of Sanders, took to Truth Social after Sanders scored his first win as a starter to congratulate the rookie QB on his win:

“Shedeur Sanders was GREAT. Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Clevaland). Great Genes. I TOLD YOU SO!” 

Trump did, in fact, tell us so. Back during the NFL Draft, the president criticized teams who let the Colorado QB, and son of his friend Deion Sanders, fall to the fifth round:

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be “picked” IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”

And Sanders said during camp this offseason that he was thankful for the president’s endorsement:

“I was truly thankful. I was truly thankful for it. Including him there was a lot of fans, a lot of people in barber shops, a lot of hairstylists, there was a lot of just fans of me and of my craft and of my family that was there to support. So I was just thankful that I have that foundation overall, just as people and we all could come together as one.”
