Riley Green Shares Teaser Of Randy Houser Duet, “Cowboy As It Get,” & The Deluxe Edition Of ‘Don’t Mind If I Do’ Is Going To Be GOOD

I can already tell I’m gonna love this one.

Riley Green is gearing up to announce the deluxe edition of his 2024 album Don’t Mind If I Do this Friday, which will feature six new songs added to the tracklist of his sophomore album.

Two of them have features from other artists in “Cowboy As It Gets” with Randy Houser and “I Just Need You” with Hannah McFarland. The other new songs are “Make It Rain,” “What Am I Supposed To Do Now,” “Bet They’re Biting”  and “One To Willie.”

He’s teased a couple of them before, and the original album featured two radio hits in the title track that features Ella Langley “Don’t Mind If I Do,” and his steamy solo write “Worst Way.”

I’ve loved “Make It Rain” since he first teased in on Instagram months ago… he might’ve even shared part of it in 2024, I can’t remember exactly, but today, Riley shared a clip of another song from the deluxe tracklist, which is the duet with Randy Houser “Cowboy As It Gets.” It finds Riley reminiscing on a father figure, admitting that while he’s not actually a cowboy who grew up herding cattle on the plains of Texas, he has all of the qualities that define a cowboy’s character and heart:

“He ain’t from Texas,
And he don’t rope and ride,
But he’s wide open reckless,
Never runs from a fight,

They don’t give out buckles or ribbons,
For the kind of outlaw livin’ he did,
My old man ain’t from Texas,
But I’d say he is,
Just about as cowboy as it gets”

I think there will be many fans who relate to this concept, and I think it’s a brilliant idea for a country song that is made even better by those criminally underrated Randy Houser vocals:

“‘Cowboy As It Gets’ with Randy Houser out this Friday.”

Everything Riley has released over the last several years has been so solid, and unlike most deluxe editions of an album, this one seems to have new songs that really will add to how good the project was overall:

Riley also shared a teaser of the studio cut of “Make It Rain,” and I know I’ll be listening to this one first come Friday because I’ve been waiting for MONTHS for this full song:
