Arsenal have already made waves this summer by securing the signings of Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyökeres, amongst others – now they’ve set their sights on another major transfer.

The next in line could be England star Eberechi Eze in what could be a transformative move for Mikel Arteta’s side.

With Gyökeres’ arrival providing firepower up front – after a staggering season in Portugal – attention has quickly turned to adding more creativity behind him. According to The Independent, Crystal Palace playmaker Eze has emerged as a priority target, following the completion of the Gyokeres deal.

Eze’s ball-carrying ability, dribbling in tight spaces and knack for producing in the final third make him an ideal fit for Arsenal’s system – especially in matches where they struggle to break down low blocks. While Martin Ødegaard remains the heartbeat of Arteta’s midfield, Eze’s more unpredictable style could offer a complementary or differential threat in that position, or as an option the left.

The challenge lies in Crystal Palace’s stance. The south London club are keen to keep Eze and are under no financial pressure to sell. It’s understood a deal would likely cost over £60million, but with Arsenal keen to build on back-to-back title pushes, investment in final-third quality is seen as crucial.

Behind the scenes, sporting director Andrea Berta is leading the strategy as the Gunners aim to act early and decisively in the market. The signing of Gyökeres shows intent; landing Eze would underline Arsenal’s ambition to add match-winners capable of making the difference in tight games – both domestically and in the Champions League.
