Official: Arsenal confirm the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea

Arsenal have completed the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea, with the 23-year-old winger becoming the latest exciting addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The England international joins the Gunners after two seasons at Stamford Bridge, where he showed flashes of brilliance in an overall inconsistent spell. Now, under the stability and tactical clarity of Arteta’s system, Madueke will be aiming to unlock his full potential in North London.

In his first interview, Madueke was ambitious with his words: ”To win all the competitions we’re in, I feel like we’re definitely capable of doing that. And also to help the team in every way I can and grow as a player, but also as a person.”

Arteta sounds delighted to get his man, he told Arsenal.com: “Noni is an exciting and powerful young player, with his performances and numbers in recent seasons being of consistently high quality. He is one of the most talented wide forward players in the Premier League. “At just 23, Noni already brings experience of club and international football, and he knows the Premier League very well. Having seen the quality of Noni’s performances up close in recent seasons, we’re really excited he is joining us.”

Born in Barnet, Madueke is returning to familiar surroundings. After leaving Tottenham’s academy at 16 to pursue first-team football at PSV Eindhoven, he quickly built a reputation as a fearless, direct winger with an eye for goal. His performances in the Eredivisie earned him a move to Chelsea in 2023.

Still, Madueke remains one of the Premier League’s most naturally gifted one-on-one attackers. Arsenal’s recruitment team, led by Andrea Berta, see him as a long-term investment – a player who can develop into a devastating option on the right flank or as an impact sub to stretch games late on from the left.

With Bukayo Saka firmly established as the first-choice right winger, Madueke’s signing raises questions about rotation and squad depth. But Arteta has made no secret of his desire to build a squad capable of challenging across all competitions, and the addition of another dynamic wide forward fits that vision perfectly.
