Official: Arsenal confirm the signing of 21-year-old defender Cristhian Mosquera

Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia, with the talented centre-back joining Mikel Arteta’s squad.

The 21-year-old Spaniard has signed a long-term contract at Emirates Stadium after Arsenal agreed a deal worth around £15 million, slightly below Valencia’s initial asking price. The move has been orchestrated behind the scenes by Andrea Berta, as Arsenal continue to reinforce their defensive options for the 2025/26 campaign.

Mosquera, who was born in Colombia but represents Spain internationally, impressed in La Liga last season with his maturity, intelligent positioning, and ability on the ball. At 6ft 2in, he brings a strong physical presence alongside his composure in possession — qualities that align well with Arteta’s tactical approach.

Arteta is expected to ease Mosquera into the squad, with the defender competing alongside William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and Jakub Kiwior for minutes.
