Arsenal made it three from three in this season’s Champions League after an emphatic win at The Emirates.
It was a tight first half, with Arsenal a tad unlucky not to be ahead after a couple of early chances – the closest coming from a deflected Ebere Eze shot clipping the crossbar.
The second half saw Arsenal make the breakthrough when an excellent Declan Rice delivery was nodded home by Gabriel.
Then the Gunners ran riot, with Gabriel Martinelli finishing brilliantly after Myles Lewis-Skelly stormed through the Atletico midfield. It was then time for Viktor Gyokeres to get his goals, scoring a quickfire brace after a long wait.
It was another clean sheet too for the Gunners, and Mikel Arteta was able to hand valuable minutes to the likes of Ben White, Cristian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera and Ethan Nwaneri from the bench.

Men of the match: Viktor Gyokeres. Delighted for him because he worked really hard and linked the play better than he had ever done for 60 minutes. When Trossard scored that goal at Fulham I couldn’t help but wish one fell for Gyokeres like that. Tonight, his hard work was rewarded with two goals of that ilk.
