The fast-rising dance music duo understood what made 50’s hook so sticky in the first place, turning his fantasy of club domination into actual club-ready ammunition by lacing his ageless vocal hook through a pumping tech house anthem. The irony isn’t lost: a track that name-dropped the Trammps’ 1976 disco classic gets reborn as true dance music two decades later.

Back in 2004, when flip phones snapped shut and Mean Girls quotes ruled AIM away messages, “Disco Inferno” was about running roughshod through velvet-rope clubs. Now it’s about keeping you in them until the sun comes up, your phone’s dead, and your Uber rating is never recovering.
