Nebraska Football Deletes Picture Of Taylor Swift Kissing Their Mascot After Backlash From Swifties

If you thought college football was safe from Swifties, think again.

Week one of the 2025 college football season kicked off last night, and featured an incredible game between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Nebraska managed to hold off a late drive from Cincinnati, who had moved into field goal range with a chance to tie the game before an interception in the closing seconds sealed the deal for the Cornhuskers.

But the other big story from the night was…Taylor Swift.

The pop superstar was in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium with her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Cincy alum Travis Kelce. And as it turns out, even though Kelce wasn’t playing last night, he still had a lot riding on the game.

Earlier this year, Travis made a bet with former Nebraska linebacker and Bussin’ With the Boys podcast host Will Compton that he would wear the Nebraska mascot head if Cincinnati lost the game. And after the game, Nebraska was quick to make him pay up.

The Huskers had some fun with Kelce’s recent engagement pictures, and posted a photo on social media showing Taylor Swift embracing Herbie Husker instead of Kelce. So you can imagine how that went over with Swifties…
