NASCAR tough.
Today, NASCAR is at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania, and it’s always interesting because it’s the only track on the Cup Series schedule with just three turns, and it’s been a staple on the schedule since 1971.
Chase Briscoe is currently on the lead with more than half of the race still to go, but there was a scary moment on pit road several minutes ago when cars were coming onto pit road, because as AJ Allmendinger entered his pit box, Shane van Gisbergen in the #88 was just ahead, and when the No. 16 crew came around his car with tires, AJ’s car knocked one of them out of his guys hands, and it went flying towards SVG’s crew and rolled into their box.
The tire flew over there and hit former D1 lacrosse player J.P. Kealey, who is the #88 rear tire changer, in the side and he fell to the ground. He took a tough hit, obviously it could’ve been a lot worse and thankfully it wasn’t, but I’m sure he’ll be sore tomorrow… he got up pretty fast and still finished the stop like a champ, though.
“Your reminder that pit crew athletes are insane.”
