Days after fans were left wondering what was going on with Malevolence after Hatebreed announced some replacement acts for this year’s Summer Slaughter, the band has come out an announced that they were personally stepping back from the tour. And though they don’t go into detail, we now know their departure from the lineup is due to what they’re calling “unforeseen personal circumstances.”

Confirmation from the band came in a statement that Malevolence posted online, which the U.K. metalcore act hoped to clear things up for their fans planning to catch them on the Summer Slaughter tour. Their statement went as follows:

“We are sad to announce we will no longer be joining Hatebreed and the rest of the lineup this July. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to step back from this run.

“As a band this kind of decision has never been taken lightly, and we want to sincerely apologise to anyone who was looking forward to catching us on this tour. We have nothing but love for everyone involved in the Summer Slaughter tour and encourage you all to go out and support every band on that stage. We hope to be back in the US with you all soon.”

At the moment, we don’t know who will take Malevolence’s place on this year’s Summer Slaughter lineup, but we expect that information to come soon. The tour is slated to start next Tuesday, so time is of the essence here.
