Liverpool 4-2 Bournemouth LIVE REACTION: Salah in tears as Reds claim dramatic late win after ‘totally unacceptable’ racism incident

Liverpool beat Bournemouth 4-2 in a Premier League opener at Anfield that was sadly marred by a racism incident. The Reds claimed a 2-0 lead through goals from £79million summer signing Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo. But they saw that disappear after Antoine Semenyo, who reported racial abuse from the crowd during the game, scored twice. Bournemouth looked to be taking home a draw in their first outing – at least until Federico Chiesa netted a late winner. Mohamed Salah then got in on the act, of course, to seal victory and three points on an emotional night in honour of Diogo Jota. Post-match, Arne Slot, Andoni Iraola and Adam Smith all strongly condemned the actions towards Semenyo, and Liverpool have now confirmed a police investigation is ongoing. You can recap all of the action below….
