Real Betis fell to a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in the club’s first European final, with Antony failing to get a fairytale end to his loan spell.

He finished with nine goals and five assists for the LaLiga side in all competitions and has looked like the player Man United thought they’d signed from Ajax for £82million in the summer of 2022.

But despite playing so well with Betis, his future is up in the air.

Is Antony returning to Manchester United?

Antony has now played the final match of his loan spell, so as things stand, he will be a full United player again.

The temporary switch to Betis didn’t include an option or obligation to buy.

Of course, whether he is actually ever going to return to Manchester is another question entirely.

The Red Devils conclude their post-season tour of Asia with a friendly against the Hong Kong national team on Friday.

Antony will not have to travel from the Conference League final in Poland to take part.

He instead will enjoy a few days’ rest before joining up with Brazil after being included in Carlo Ancelotti‘s first squad.

Once the international break is over, the winger will no doubt head on holiday, and in that time, a transfer could be arranged.
