‘I don’t regret it’ – Daniel Levy speaks out for first time on Ange Postecoglou sacking in rare interview

We felt that we needed a change. “I have got an excellent relationship with him and told him he will always be a part of our history. Himself and his family are always welcome back. “It was a collective decision. It wasn’t my decision. We do everything together. “Emotionally it was difficult but we believe we have made the right decision for the club.” Although Postecoglou led Tottenham to a much-needed trophy, he also oversaw a dismal Premier League season in which the club finished 17th and lost 22 games. We want to build on the success of winning a trophy last season. “One of the things that stood out to me with Thomas – clearly highly intelligent, great communicator, super human being plus all of the other technical aspects that are important.” Newly-appointed CEO Vinai Venkatesham added that Frank was the number one candidate from a shortlist of 30 after the club identified ten key traits they believed ‘are important to be a successful manager at Tottenham’. The 20-year-old initially joined Tottenham on loan in February from Bayern Munich and helped them win the Europa League.
