Jonathan and Abigail Peyton have a new album out today, and you need to drop what you’re doing and give it a listen.

Titled How We’ve Come So Far, the Peytons’ third full length record features 11 songs that will stop you in your tracks with breathtaking harmonies and deft lyricism. Coming from a place of vulnerability and introspection, these songs find the husband and wife duo diving into their journey together and the trials, tribulations, and triumphs that they have shared.

Dealing perspective along the way, they ultimately come to the conclusion that if it weren’t for these moments and experiences, they likely wouldn’t be who they are today. And with a lot to be thankful for, that warrants hope and optimism for the future.

Juggling full time jobs and three children, it’s an accomplishment in its own right to find the time to write songs, record an album, and play some shows here and there. But to pour this level of effort and emotion into the creation of a cohesive collection of songs that so many listeners will relate to and find solace in is an especially impressive feat. With this marking Peyton’s third record, though, it’s become clear that this is just par for the course.

When announcing the record earlier this summer, Jonathan Peyton took to Instagram to share some more context behind How We’ve Come So Far.

“Our new album ‘How We’ve Come So Far’ comes out on August 15th! This album is a glimpse into our journey and stories inspired by it. It confronts the hardships and uncomfortable parts of life but also embraces hope. As humans we are shaped by our experiences and it’s weird to think that we may not be who we are if we never experienced what we have. It can be angering, sad, and joyful all at the same time. This album is taking a look back and calls for gratitude in the midst of hell. ‘Look where we come from, oh how e’ve come so far.’

We recorded this down in Griffin, GA with our friends. Thanks Jason Hoard for producing this record and making it come to life with all your creativity and hard work.

We’re excited to release this through Cloverdale Records.

Thanks to Chris Henderson for snapping this photo of us over 12 years ago. We were freshly engaged and had no idea how far we’d come in just 12 years.”

Now, without further ado, give How We’ve Come So Far by Jonathan and Abigail Peyton a listen for yourself.
