Ringing in the new year.
Last week, the full lineup for Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash TV special was announced, and there are some huge country artists slated to perform.
With Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson and Bailey Zimmerman set as headliners for the five-hour TV special, the secondary performances are quite star-studded. In addition to the likes of Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson and Rascal Flatts, Music City is also calling on the likes of Zach Top, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Riley Green, Megan Moroney, Stephen Wilson Jr., Marcus King and Dwight Yoakam to ring in the year.
With a pretty solid lineup as far as a mainstream show such as this goes, the only thing missing was a host, and today, it was announced that none other than HARDY and comedian Bert Kreischer will be hosting CBS’ major New Year’s Eve show.
Kreischer, who’s best known for standup shows, his podcast, Bertcast, and his frequent appearances with the likes of Joe Rogan, Tom Segura and Shane Gillis, would note how much of an honor it is to be hosting alonside his friend, HARDY. Additionally, he’d hilariously note that he’ll try his best to keep his shirt on throughout the broadcast.
“You hear people say I’m honored and privileged to be working with a certain group of people but in this case, I am blown away that I’m allowed to work with these people. This lineup is insane. This event, which I was a very small part of last year, is so much fun. To be working with my buddy HARDY… it feels like I should be paying CBS to do this. I can’t wait. I hope I keep my shirt on, and I promise not to drink until the stroke of midnight, unless you want me to start drinking earlier.”
HARDY, who is also set to perform live at Bicentennial Park along with headliners, Aldean, Wilson and Zimmerman, would also note just how excited he is to host alongside the comedian.
“Celebrating New Year’s in Music City is always a blast. It’s great to be back playing Nashville’s Big Bash and I’m stoked to co-host this year with one of the funniest dudes I know.”
The show will air live on Wednesday, December 31st at 8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT and 10:30 PM-1:30 AM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and it will also stream on Paramount+.
And if you’re going to actually be in Nashville for the holiday, there will be an in person watch party at Luke Combs’ Category 10 bar, where Dwight Yoakam will be performing throughout the evening, in addition to a performance from Marcus King.
Much of the live show will take place at Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, and the event will air across multiple time zones, with the traditional countdown at midnight Eastern time. The Nashville Music Note Drop will happen on Central time.
Some of the performances will likely be pre-recorded, but if you’ll be in Music City for New Year’s Eve, there will be plenty of great live performances and a lot to see and do.
As mentioned previously, the show itself is pretty loaded as far as mainstream country is concerned. With the likes of Top and Wilson Jr., who both let their presence be known at the CMA Awards last month, as well as ’90s legends, Brooks & Dunn and Yoakam, it’ll be well-worth an occasional channel-flip if you’re staying home this New Year’s Eve.The post HARDY & Bert Kreischer Set To Host ‘New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash’ first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
