Arsenal have been linked with Eberechi Eze this summer, but with Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres set to sign, many were worried about whether or not interest in Eze continued.
It now seems clear – Arsenal are continuing to explore the possibility of signingEze from Crystal Palace this summer, with discussions set to progress this week, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners remain in contact with the representatives of the 27-year-old attacking midfielder, and while Palace remain adamant that Eze will only leave if his £60m release clause is met, Arsenal are hopeful that the situation could shift later in the window, as its believed the player has made it clear, he only wants Arsenal.
As reported by both Romano and Ben Jacobs, Arsenal are expected to make a formal approach to Crystal Palace in the coming days. The North London club are keen to negotiate a fee that falls below Eze’s release clause, testing Palace’s resolve.
Eze is viewed as a player who could elevate Arsenal’s attacking midfield options and left wing. He would offer a dynamic alternative to Martin Ødegaard and give Mikel Arteta additional creative firepower in different positions across a demanding season.
Arsenal’s immediate transfer focus remains finalising the Viktor Gyökeres deal. However, once that deal is formalised, attention will turn fully to reinforcing the midfield. Sources close to the club suggest the hierarchy see Eze as a unique opportunity to add proven Premier League quality without overreaching financially.
As the window progresses, expect Arsenal to keep pushing behind the scenes to land their man.
