EXCLUSIVE: Cody Jinks Previews New Song & Music Video, “The Others,” From Forthcoming Album ‘In My Blood’

The next song from In My Blood… and it’s a GOOD one.

Cody Jinks is gearing up to release his 11th career studio album on July 25th, which was produced by Joshua Thompson and Charles Godfrey, and as always, we can expect Jinks to bring his signature baritone vocals, honky tonk sound and captivating lyricism to the table. The album will dive into themes of “redemption, resilience, and the working-class struggle… an exploration into a new chapter of the country singer’s life – where he’s been and where he’s going.”

Over the past decade, few artists have produced the kind of catalog that Cody Jinks has, both in quality and quantity. Since the release of his critically-acclaimed Adobe Sessions in 2015, Cody has operated a steady clip of nearly an album a year, following it up with I’m Not The Devil in 2016, 2018’s Lifers, two albums in 2019, a couple live and/or unplugged projects, a Lefty Frizzell cover album and a few more studio albums… it’s a catalog that I’d put up against anybody in country music over the past 10 years.

He is the real deal, doing it all independently and carving out an impressive career that most could only dream of, and this album is shaping up to be another important statement in is already top-notch catalog.

And today, we’re pleased to premiere the new teaser for his forthcoming music video “The Others,” which will be out everywhere tomorrow and finds Jinks reflecting on his life in every aspect, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and still searching to put real meaning into his music. He uses all of that experience and emotion to make his lyrics matter, and coupled with that signature, country and rock-tinged Jinks production, it’s a great and one of my favorite of the pre-released singles thus far.

The music video was filmed in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and features Jinks and his band performing in a bar filled with misfits and drifters that deeply identify with the message in the song. Eventually, being moved by the music, the crowd comes together through a shared sense of belonging and it really captures the the unifying power of an honest and truthful song. Nothing brings people from all different backgrounds and walks of life together like music, we all know that, and when you’re as talented and honest as Jinks, the authenticity just seeps through so naturally as he’s proved time and again over the years in terms of how deeply his music resonates.

Nobody does it like Jinks, and to say the way he’s gone about his career is impressive would be an understatement. He never waivers from who he is and what he does best, consistently putting out some of the best country music in the genre and carrying the torch of that outlaw attitude. He’s always done things his own way and stayed true to himself as an artist who passionately believes in his music and in himself.
