Ella Langley‘s ACM Awards were filled with more than one memorable experience.

This year, Ella Langley walked into the ACM Awards as the most-nominated artist across men and women. The number of nominations was impressive as is, given that she beat out the reigning 2x Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson for a number of nominations.

While Langley’s ACM Awards were memorable just for that and with the five honors she took home, the awards show was filled with other “I’ve made it” moments. Langley even said herself that there was “a ridiculous amount of highlights of that whole entire week.”

In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, the “Weren’t For The Wind” singer shared that one of her highlights from the week was performing “Kerosene” with Miranda Lambert. Langley talked with the publication while at the Sand In My Boots festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, sharing that Lambert has been one of her favorite artists from childhood, making the performance even more memorable.

“But performing ‘Kerosene,’ I already knew that I was going to do ‘Weren’t for the Wind’ but when we got asked to do ‘Kerosene,’ God, I was like, ‘It just made the night so much better for me because I got that initial fear out’ — and that was our first time performing together. It felt like a 12-year-old kid living her biggest dream ever on stage.”

Langley, who has traits similar to Lambert, has always admired her for doing things her way and sticking to her guns as a young woman in the industry.

Just like Lambert shook up the scene when she broke out as a country artist, Langley is also shaking up the current state of country music with her mega-hit “You Look Like You Love Me.” The song turned back time, reviving the talking style lyrics that artists like Conway Twitter and David Allen Coe utilized in the day. She also shares the same philanthropic interests as Lambert, starting her own 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue, Pawsitive Rescue Division.

Lambert is a mentor to Langley as well, supporting her nonprofit endeavors.

But back to the ACM performance…

Recently, Lambert shared a clip of the first run through of “Kerosene” before their big performance at the ACM Awards. Even on their first time singing together, they sound incredible and feed off of each other so naturally.

Langley picked a good idol to look up to because she’s on the same path to having a long and successful career. These two are some bada** women.
