Dying Wish Find “Revenge In Carnage” in Latest Single

Increasingly popular metalcore act Dying Wish‘s new album Flesh Stays Together will be released next month and as such, they’re back with its second single, “Revenge In Carnage”.

As you’d probably expect by now from Dying Wish, this track goes hard with the thick as fuck riffs, pummelling rhythm, and frontwoman Emma Boster’s serrated vocal attack. And while it sounds kick ass, Boster said the track has a more universal appeal lyrically than you might expect.

“‘Revenge in Carnage’ is an anthemic moment of man-made apocalyptic violence. Imagine when you hear the isolated vocal starting the song that you have entered your final moment. Our final moments on this earth will not be peaceful. There’s no time for reflection, only survival.”

As for the music video, which was co-directed by Imani Givertz and the band’s own Pedro Carrillo, you may not want to watch it at work or around anyone you wouldn’t want to disturb, because it shows some pretty realistic scenes of Boster and another woman getting choked with a plastic bag. I know it was done as safely as possible, but you never know who’s experienced abuse before. Still, Carillo said the violence was important to the song and video’s overarching message.

“The video represents the disillusion of self. The acceptance of violence and how we see ourselves in other people. We try to silence those thoughts with our own righteous beliefs only to be a different version of the same knife. We continue to fail to protect one another. We continue to point the finger. We continue to pretend that evil isn’t formed within our soul. If there is hope, it won’t be found in this lifetime.”
