Drunk Fan Rushes Gavin Adcock During Show, Wrestles With Security On Stage Before Finally Being Dragged Away

Honestly, put up a pretty good effort.

Gavin Adcock has gained quite the reputation for his rowdy shows, and we’ve seen quite a few videos over the past couple years of the country music newcomer having to settle the crowd down or handle altercations between fans (or between his dad and Nickelback’s security guard).

In fact, Gavin himself even recently discussed his rowdy crowds during an interview with Rolling Stone:

“It’s an experience. I sell t-shirts that says ‘I Survived a Gavin Adcock Concert’ at my merch table.”

Of course sometimes things are going to get out of hand and fans are going to do stupid stuff. Like this drunk guy who probably woke up feeling a little more than a hangover.

During a recent show in Wichita, Kansas one fan apparently had a little too much to drink and decided to rush Gavin on stage, running out there like a bull in a china shop and knocking over the mic stand before finally being taken down by security.

But despite the guard grabbing him by the neck and placing him into a chokehold, ol’ son put up a hell of a fight. In fact the crew had to call for backup, and it finally took around 6 security guards to finally get him off the stage.

The incident came on the same day that Gavin received a present from Charley Crockett amid their recent feud.

If you haven’t been following along, it all started when Charley took to social media and unleashed an epic rant on the state of country music, taking aim at “bro country” and defending Beyoncé from critics who point the finger at the pop star for ruining country music, while also calling out Morgan Wallen for admitting that he doesn’t listen to much country music:

“Hey country folks. Beyoncé ain’t the source of your discontent. It was 25 years of bro country. The number one country artist on Earth listens to nothing but rap. Openly says he doesn’t really know any country music. Gotta respect his honesty.

The machine points to a black woman who’s making a statement about marginalized people being removed from the conversation altogether, and somehow we all act like the entire pop industry didn’t just ambush roots music. These ‘country boys’ been singing over trap beats for years.

So what’s different now? Authenticity. Many of those business folks called me early on. They had whole albums pre-written and recorded ready to just plug me in. I have receipts. It’s harder than ever to keep the public’s attention. They said and I quote, ‘We wanna get into country music where you have audience loyalty.’ Hot today, forgot tomorrow.

I don’t need to put down a black woman to advance my music. That’s just embarrassing to the idea of America and I got no respect for it.”

Many obviously saw that last part as a shot at Gavin Adcock, who’s been outspoken about his belief that Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album should not be considered “country,” including at a show over the summer when Adcock told the crowd:

“There are only three people in front of me on the Apple Music country charts. And one of ’em is Beyoncé. You can tell her we’re coming for her f***ing a**. That s**t ain’t country music and it’s never ever been country music and it will never be country music.”
