Corrosion of Conformity’s Next Album is a F*cking DOUBLE ALBUM

Oh shit, you guys. I know it’s only been a few days since our last check in on Corrosion of Conformity, but we’ve got some major news about their follow up to 2018’s No Cross, No Crown — it’s going to be a DOUBLE FUCKING ALBUM. That means way more new CoC than most expected. Not only that, but the revered stoner/Southern/sludge metal outfit said all of the recording is done, so the whole thing is off to get mixed.

All that info was dumped in a pretty heartfelt message on the band’s official Facebook page. In it, the band recognize everyone involved with the making of the as-of-yet unnamed record.

“For all the freethinkers and beer drinkers….

“Woody and Pepper have just finished tracking one of the most meaningful and powerful records we have ever been a part of. This would not have been possible without the skills of all those that have joined this caravan, that is still in hot pursuit. Stanton Moore, Bobby Rock and Mr. Warren Riker between the speakers and never telling us to turn down…now he’s off to mixland..There’s many others that this would have not been possible without and whom will not be forgotten .This is what was in our head for three years and today we can say it is no longer ours.

“oh yeah ..

“It’s a double album.”

One thing that stands out to me in the band’s statement is that this will be “one of the most meaningful and powerful records” in their discography. CoC’s been through it lately, with their founding drummer Reed Mullin passing away in 2020 and founding bassist Mike Dean quitting a couple years later. Couple all that with the fact that Pepper’s also been busy with his Down responsibilities and you’ve got a band that’s been floating along, waiting for the right time to strike back at hardship. This double album might be a great way, in some sense, to break past those setbacks.

Either way, get stoked. Corrosion of Conformity fucking rules and new music from that band is always a good thing!
