Conservative Media Personality, Charlie Kirk, Shot During Utah Valley University Speaking Event

The Conservative activist and media personality was shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University this afternoon. His condition remains unknown.

Charlie Kirk, full name Charles James Kirk, is an American right-wing political activist, author, and media personality. Kirk is famously known for being a founder of Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization that advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses. He travels around to various college campuses, speaking to students on political topics. Given his outward right-wing views, many left leaning students show up to his events to try to debate Kirk, and often times they’re quite angry, but he always remains calm, cool, and collected, doing his best to share facts about his beliefs.

Today, September 10th, Kirk hosted an event at Utah Valley University courtyard as part of The American Comeback Tour, which is hosted by the TPUSA chapter at Utah Valley. During the event, Kirk was sitting under a tent with a massive crowd gathered around him as he spoke to the students. During the event, video footage on X shows that a singular shot was fired at Kirk. You can see his body move from the impact of the shot. After a few moments, students began to flee the scene for safety.

Fox News shared that Kirk has been hospitalized following the incident. One suspect, allegedly seen here, is reportedly in custody.

The Utah Senator Mike Lee posted on X shortly after the incident, sharing that he’s praying for Kirk and the students who witnessed such a horrific thing.
