Lan Law won’t stop until everyone is “Country to the Bone.”

If you’ve never heard of the country music phenomenon that is Lan Law, consider yourself lucky. The duo – made up of brothers Lane and Curtis Lawson – released a country song called “Country to the Bone” in 2024 that was so incredibly bad that it started getting traction online.

It’s like a train wreck that people can’t look away from.

Now, Lan Law has a decent following online, and they’ve even sold out shows around Nashville (small shows, but sold out nonetheless). And to be clear, this isn’t a case where people are laughing with the country music duo. That’s the confusing part. Either Lan Law doesn’t realize that their success is due to people sharing the video as a joke and pointing out how bad it is, or they know that’s exactly what’s happening… and their just trying to capitalize on the opportunity.

Though a song like “Country to the Bone” should have ended Lan Law’s music career before it even got started, they’re persistent, and the group is teasing new and big things that are still to come:

“We’ve got some big news coming soon! Keep watching, keep streaming, and keep on keeping it ‘Country To The Bone!'”

Oh brother…

Is there any way you can unsubscribe from Lan Law’s “big news” like you can with emails you don’t want to receive anymore? I’d be down to do that, because I have no interest in hearing anything else from the country music (?) duo. And judging by the comments people left on the above post, most other music listeners aren’t interested either:

“I played this song on my radio during a road trip and even my kids told me to shut it off.”

“This sounds like something that would come of asking ChatGPT to make a country song.”

“Best satire page I’ve seen.”

“Mom and dad’s bank account gotta be looking light at this point.”

“Is this just a 3-song, tone deaf, sacrifice band with 14 videos for each song?”

“This has to be a huge troll, has to be. There’s no other explanation.”

“If y’all get some better vocals, the songs would still be bad.”

“I continue to wait for the reveal that these two are highly trained comedians and this is just a bit they are doing. But the longer it goes on, the more I am believing these two actually are serious about this, and believe that anyone will actually find this pleasurable to the ears.”

That last comment really hit the nail on the head, eh?

Surely the Lan Law brothers are in on the joke at this point, right? There’s no way they have that many “Yes Men” and “Yes women” around them saying that what they are doing is good. At least that’s very hard to believe. Maybe the joke is on all of us, as we try to wrap our heads around this band that has somehow managed to milk all they can out of a song that’s truly one of the worst that’s ever been recorded.

Then again, when you’re playing Nashville bars on Broadway and meeting with Bobby Bones, you’re kinda… doing it? Country music joke-ception perhaps. The post Buckle Up… Lan Law (The Group Behind “Country To The Bone”) Says They Have “Big News” Coming Soon first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
