Billy Ray Cyrus & Elizabeth Hurley Make Their Red Carpet Debut In Rome

Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are as official as ever.

To be honest with you, I would have thought that the “Some Gave All” singer would have taken some time to himself after his somewhat tumultuous relationship – and subsequent split – from Australia singer Firerose (who was 28 years younger than Billy Ray). The pair got married in October of 2023, and in May of 2024, they got divorced.

But funny enough, the end of Cyrus’ relationship with Firerose was what sparked the connection between he and Elizabeth Hurley. The model/actress and the 90s country music singer met on the set of the 2022 film Christmas in Paradise, and there was evidently an undeniable connection from the very beginning.

That being said, the pair apparently didn’t speak for two years after the filming of the Christmas movie (Tish might not believe that). It was only when Billy Ray went through his public, messy divorce from Firerose that prompted Hurley to send him this text message to check in.

In an interview with People recently, the country artist shared the text message he received and added that the “pick me up” was a lot like a letter Johnny Cash had sent him at one point in his career:

“Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner. Johnny said, ‘Hey, you know, just remember that all things that are good come from almighty God above and that stuff happens, and in your case… the good outweighs the bad. Let ‘em have it. I’m in your corner…’

A bit of what Johnny had written me at my lowest point.” So, I text back, I go, ‘Who is this?’ And it’s like, ‘Elizabeth Hurley.’ Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.”

Once Cyrus was able to confirm that it was Hurley texting him during his low point, the pair were able to reconnect, and I guess you could say that the rest is history. One little check in text has blossomed into an Instagram official relationship.

It was on Easter Sunday that Cyrus and Hurley took to social media to share with the world that they were together. The country music star insists that he’s as happy as he’s ever been since his relationship with Hurley started up:

What a lovely couple that no one would have ever put together, right?

Since that introductory Easter picture, the couple has remained close – and posting about their relationship. There was another series of photos shared that showed Cyrus and Hurley hanging out at his Tennessee property. And to be honest, it looks like they’ve been together forever, right? When it reality, it’s only been about a month.

Or has it? The speculation that Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley were in a relationship had been swirling before they went social media official. Most of that rumor stemmed from a bikini video that Hurley posted of herself back on April 9th. Notice that she plugged in Billy Ray’s “She’s Not Cryin’ Anymore” as the post’s attached song.

And since both Hurley and Cyrus were single at the time after splitting from their spouses, the rumors that they were in a relationship continued to strengthen. Then those rumors were confirmed with the “Happy Easter” photo that was posted initially, then mega-confirmed when the “Tennessee weekend” post hit the internet.

If it matters or makes a difference, and I’m really not sure if it does, the unlikely couple went red-carpet official with their relationship this past weekend. The pair were spotted together at the Rosso Exhibition Opening Dinner in Rome, Italy, and Hurley’s son Damian appears to have also attended the event with them.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley’s relationship knows no continental bounds. And they can evidently do it all… Easter bunny outfits, side-by-side riding in Tennessee, international travel to one of the most historic cities in the entire world. Nothing can stop the celebrity power couple that’s just getting started.
