Big Gramatik Deliver Golden Hour Grooves in Electro-Funk Anthem, “Til The Sun Come Up”

Livetronica pioneers Gramatik and Big Gigantic have reunited to release “Til The Sun Come Up,” their first collaboration in over six years.

Fans surely remember GRiZMATiK, the formidable duo of GRiZ and Gramatik, who launched their collaborative alias after spontaneously performing deep in the woods at Electric Forest back in 2012. A year later they joined forces with Big Gigantic to form the supergroup Big GRiZMATiK, returning to the Forest before delighting fans with funk-fueled performances at Summer Camp Music Festival, Camp Bisco and Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, among others.

Big Gigantic and Gramatik teamed up in 2019 (sans GRiZ ) to release “Better Believe It Now,” a perfect title to describe their unthinkable reunion six years later. Out today, “Til The Sun Come Up” is a vintage electro-funk anthem melding their respective strengths without losing either identity in translation.

The track features Big Gigantic’s signature sun-dappled saxophone patterns while Gramatik’s analog warmth seeps through vintage organ stabs and guitar flourishes. Meanwhile, ProbCause‘s defiant verses cut through the organic instrumentation with confidence and clarity, acknowledging our collective gloom in an era of AI slop and screens that never sleep, even when we do.

The surging rapper’s Alice in Wonderland nod (“We’re all mad here”) is a clever lyrical recognition of our current moment’s surreal anxiety. And when he raps about bringing light to “dark days ahead,” the sentiment lands because Big Gramatik’s production actually delivers that luminous energy.

The track’s release sets the stage for the debut live performance of Big Gramatik, who are scheduled to headline Orlando’s Metamorphosis Festival on August 30th. No word yet on whether or not GRiZ plans to join them for a surprise appearance, but it’s worth noting that the group teased a potential GRiZMATiK reunion in 2019.
