Another cast member has joined on to the previously named (Dutton Ranch) but now unnamed Yellowstone spinoff focused around Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler.
Obviously, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will be returning to reprise their respective roles in the new show. But fans have been wondering if any other former cast members would also be suiting back up to continue their Yellowstone story. After all, this spinoff with Beth and Rip has been talked about as the one that will remain closest to the feel of the flagship series.
For those wondering, it does appear that others from Yellowstone will be joining the unnamed spinoff… or at least one other cast member. Deadline reported today that Finn Little will be returning to play his character Carter in the series, and that he’ll be a regular alongside Reilly and Hauser’s Beth and Rip.
If you call yourself a fan of the show, you’ll remember that Carter joined Yellowstone during the premiere of the fourth season. He’s a bit of a troubled character (who isn’t in the Yellowstone universe?) who was somewhat adopted by Beth and Rip. Beth and Carter initially bonded when Beth was visiting her father as he died in the hospital, and Carter was doing the same with his own dad.
Eventually, Rip and Beth became guardians of Carter, and provided work for the young man on the ranch. It seems as though that connection and storyline will be further developed and explored in the upcoming series that was previously named Dutton Ranch, which is set to premiere in late 2025 (between September and December).
It was a lot easier to talk about the forthcoming show when it did have a name. But Cole Hauser ripped all that up (pun intended) when he told Fox News that the show will not be titled Dutton Ranch.
“Well, first of all, it’s not ‘Dutton Ranch. That’s not the name of it.”
So it currently does not have a name, though many are still referring to is as Dutton Ranch because that’s what it has previously been advertised as.
Though there’s not a name attached – for the time being – Hauser did say in that same interview that fans can expect the same energy and effort that they have all come to know and love from him and Kelly in Yellowstone:
“We can expect the same that we’ve been doing for the last seven years. Kelly and I going and working our a** off trying to create something special.”
Crazy to think that though the flagship Yellowstone series wrapped up at the end of 2024, the excitement stemming from the hit Taylor Sheridan show lives on. And that’s really all thanks to the various spinoffs in the works, like The Madison, The Marshals, 1944, and the show formerly known as Dutton Ranch.
They better get to finding a good name that fits the spinoff sooner rather than later since it’s supposed to premiere at the end of this year. Though I have to say I’m not exactly upset that they axed “Dutton Ranch.” It did seem a little bland and predictable… and maybe that’s why they ultimately went away from it.The post Another ‘Yellowstone’ Cast Member Is On Board For Beth Dutton & Rip Wheeler Spinoff Series first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
