Tracy Lawrence ain’t afraid of no ghosts.

The living country music legend shared on a recent episode of his TL’s Road House podcast (that’s right, Tracy Lawrence is a big time podcaster) that he’s had plenty of run ins with the spirits of apparitions over the years. Who would have thought that the man behind such hits as “Time Marches On” and “Paint Me A Birmingham” would have so many encounters with those in the spiritual realm?

You know… if you believe in that kind of stuff.

Tracy Lawrence certainly does, and talked all about it with his guest Kasey Tyndall. When the topic of ghosts came up, Lawrence jumped on the opportunity to share this crazy, fun fact about himself and the house that he used to call home:

“I’ve been seeing ghosts my whole life. I’ve seen them. The last house we lived in – we lived up the road – evidently it was built on top of a cemetery.”

I highly doubt the house listing boasted “built on top of a cemetery” as a feature when Lawrence bought it.

He’s since moved to a different house, but he had plenty of stories to tell about his old haunted home. Lawrence said they were multiple times where he experienced things that couldn’t be explained by anything else other than… ghosts:

“I was brushing my teeth, and footsteps ran across the attic above me. And so I climbed up in the attic, and there was nothing there. And then another time, I stepped out and opened up the door and started hearing some creaking and cracking. The chandelier started swinging by itself, and then all the lights in it blew out.”

First off, Tracy Lawrence is a mad man for just bravely barreling into his attic. That’s some Ghostbusters type of behavior right there. Second, if a chandelier starts swinging, and all of the lights in it suddenly burst, that’s no longer your house. That’s a clear-as-day signal that the ghosts own the home. No wonder Lawrence and his wife relocated to a house down the street.

And speaking of his wife, Becca, she’s apparently not as cool with the whole ghost thing. Tracy says that she’s taken matters into her own hands trying to expel the spirits (and potential demons) from their place of living:

“My wife… she’s got bible verses written all around the exterior door frames all around the house. There’s crosses all over.”

@tracy_lawrence Do you believe in ghosts? @Kasey Tyndall knows how to get rid of ’em! Loved hanging with my friend and powerhouse on the podcast this week. Give it a listen! #TLsRoadHouse #countrymusic #podcast #ghosts ♬ original sound – Tracy Lawrence

So Tracy Lawrence is an unofficial member of the Ghostbusters, right?

As a country music star, there’s no doubt that Lawrence has plenty of stories to go around. I just don’t think anyone expected those anecdotes to be ghost stories. We actually got into some of his non-spooky-stories in an upcoming episode of the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast, which comes out on June 3. Make sure to set a reminder on your calendar to tune into the can’t-miss episode.

Until then, here’s the latest episode of TL’s Road House with Kasey Tyndall:
