Season 3 Of Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Special Ops: Lioness’ Spotted Filming In Dallas, Texas

Another Taylor Sheridan show is taking over the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

If you are a Taylor Sheridan watch-aholic like I am, you are sure to be familiar with Special Ops: Lioness, starring Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman. But if you are not familiar with this series, it is a must-add to your content plate.

Lioness centers on a CIA operative named Joe (Zoe Saldaña) who tries to balance her work and personal life while on the front lines of her agency’s war on terror. Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade, a long-tenured CIA Senior Supervisor. The show is action-packed and tense, and it highlights the complex ways in which work and family life intertwine, like Yellowstone and Landman.

The show also features some familiar faces from the Taylor Sheridan metaverse, like Landman‘s Dale Bradley, who is played by James Jordan, and is in the cast of Lioness, along with Ian Bohen, who starred as Ryan on Yellowstone.

After two highly successful seasons of Lioness, there was some concern that the show wouldn’t go on after lengthy production delays and silence from the updates department. The second season aired its final episode in December of 2024, and Taylor Sheridan usually likes to keep his projects on a consistent release schedule (Sheridan’s loyal following appreciates new seasons every year).

For reference, there was only about a 12-month gap between Lioness’ Season 1 finale and Season 2 premiere. It’s been over 10 months since Season 2 wrapped up, and in October of 2025, fans just got the official word that Season 3 has been ordered.

It’s been quite some time since we have seen or heard anything about the Saldaña and Kidman-led show… until now. Folks in Dallas have seen production vans and trailers for the underrated Taylor Sheridan show around Dallas, Texas, at famed locations like the Ritz-Carlton in Uptown.

According to WFAA, the show was filming at the luxury hotel on January 15 and will continue filming at other locations in North Texas. Sheridan is also filming other hit series in this landscape.

Dallas Reddit users also shared video clips of the show filming outside downtown office buildings, and other citizens have shared images of production vans and trailers near the AT&T Discovery District. I will be very interested to see the plotline of this season, given that most of Season 2 was filmed in Fort Worth, Texas.

It’s a good day to see that we are getting closer to Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman returning to our TV screens. I can’t wait to see what Season 3 has in store for viewers.
