7-Year Old Girl Expertly Steps Up When Her Mom Needs Her To Move A Skid Steer Loader – And Of Course People Are Mad About It

Raise ’em up right.

Anybody who was raised in the country knows that country kids are just built different. I still remember driving my grandpa’s bulldozer, hopping on the tractor and bush hogging the fields, picking up pallets with a forklift and digging dirt on the excavator…all way before I could even reach the pedals of a car.

And this girl has clearly been practicing on the heavy machinery for a while now.

A mom video posted to TikTok after she ran into a problem: She needed to get the lawnmower out of the garage, but there was a skid steer behind it blocking it in.

Well apparently the mom didn’t know how to drive it, but luckily her 7-year old daughter did. And as she climbs up, it’s clear that she’s done this a time or two.

The daughter expertly demonstrates her knowledge of the machine when she has trouble getting the door shut (complaining that it happens all the time), and when the mom suggests just leaving it unlatched, the daughter quickly explains that the safety features on the skid steer prevent it from starting without the door being closed.

Like I said, she knows her stuff.

Well after getting it started, the daughter expertly backs it up, raises and lowers the bucket, and parks it safely out of the way so mom can get out the lawnmower.

Pretty impressive.

Of course many online were also impressed with the daughter’s skills:

“worked with her on a work site back in 82 helluva operator!”

“Once I saw her camouflage pants tucked into her boots I knew we were dealing with a pro.”

“I mean, is she available for hire?”

“The really cool part is, the fact that somebody actually took the time to teach her how to run that machine. that’s awesome.”

“This is how you get 20 years of experience at the age of 16”

“Proof that she’s being raised right. Good job!”

But naturally, there were still a few (city) folks in the comments who were outraged that a girl that young was being allowed the operate heavy machinery:

“That’s not cool! Mom should have been in the cab with her.”

“Mom don’t be so proud she could have gotten stuck inside and none of you could have not been able to open the door”

“Not safe to stand in front of it because accidents can happen”

“Country girl or not, she’s too young”

“When she gets hurt this won’t be impressive anymore”

“This is soooo dangerous. CPS needs to be involved”

CPS? Really?

I’ll be honest, I would absolutely trust a little kid like this who’s been taught how to operate it safely over a grown adult who’s never driven one in their life. She knew what she was doing and got the job done.

She’s clearly a daddy’s girl, but she’s also going to grow up to be a strong, independent woman who can do things for herself. Why would anybody possibly be mad about that?
