Ever since they got back together with original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, The Dillinger Escape Plan has pretty much shied away from their Greg Puciato-era hits. Makes sense, since they’d been focusing on Calculating Infinity and given how things ended. But sadly, that means fans have been unable to enjoy those killer songs in a live setting since the band originally hung it up in 2017.

That all changed — albeit temporarily — when The Dillinger Escape Plan got thoughtcrimes’ Rick Pepa behind the mic to perform “Milk Lizard” off the band’s 2007 album Ire Works during their San Francisco show on December 14.

The moment was not unlike the instance they brought out ex-Every Time I Die and Better Lovers frontman Keith Buckley on stage to perform on their show on December 12. It was just another fun moment for fans who knew they were witnessing something special as long as they understood the dynamics going on there…

As for what’s next for The Dillinger Escape Plan, only time will tell. The various members of that band all have external responsibilities now, what with Ben Weinman playing guitar for Suicidal Tendencies, Billy Rhymer playing drums for thoughtcrimes, Liam Wilson playing bass for In Flames.
